PROGRESS MADE
4/18/15:
As we slowly go into this project we must create a sketch of our filter. The image below is a solid draft of what we plan on creating. To clerify the materials used in this, I will give a short explanation. As you can see on top of the filter there is somewhat of a bowl/bucket that holds the unfiltered water, on the side of this bowl there is a whole that is connected to a tube made of copper. The water flows through the tubing and at the end of the tube it is tightly cringed so that only liquid can get through, which stops most of the bacteria from getting through. Then the water is forced into a ceramic type filter which is as clean clay that if fired, the ceramic will have microscopic holes in it so that this immediately stops any other bacteria that is still in the water. The water is caught with a funnel leading into the last stage of filtering. The last filter is used out of PVC piping.

5/14/15:
So far we have completed the final stage of the filtration. As you can see in the image below, our filter has a cloth on the bottom of it, this cleanses the water that if flowed through it along with the activated charcoal that eliminates any of the leftover bacteria from the filterations before this one.

Today the coil that is pre swirled arrived. This is going to be used as the first stage in filtration

Today we are working on completing the second stage in filtration. We are also waiting on the final parts to our project to come in from shipping.
6/4/15
Today we are working on the finishing touches of our prototype stage, we are currently drilling small holes into the ceramic pot so that the water is able to get through but most of the bacteria and dirt cant.

We have been making great progress, our original design has changed a bit, we decided not to use the final filtration piece. Instead we are using a activated cloth that is able to filter out the bacteria, in the following picture is our new design that we are almost done with. We are starting ot get ready for exhibition which is just around the corner.
